• Nevus (pedunculated) • Neurofibroma • Seborrheic keratosis (pedunculated) • Molluscum contagiosum • Verruca filiformis • Basal cell carcinoma (pedunculated)
• Also known as acrochordon or fibroepithelial polyp • Most common benign skin growth — prevalence increases with age • Predilection sites: neck, axillae, inframammary, groin — areas of friction • Associated with obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes • Multiple skin tags may warrant metabolic syndrome screening • Malignant transformation is essentially nonexistent • Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome: multiple fibrofolliculomas can resemble skin tags
